Smooth and Efficient Hair Removal: How Many Sessions Will You Need?

Epilation Guide (4 of 5)

By now, you have your epilator and have prepared your skin for the hair removal process. So you’re probably wondering how many times you’ll have to use your epilator to permanently remove your hair. Before you get started, keep in mind that using an epilator gets rid of hair permanently for some people, but only works on a long-term basis for others.

This means that you may get rid of all your hair in three or four sessions. Or, it may take two sessions for the hair to be completely gone—but you’ll have to repeat the process in a few months. Even if you were having the service performed at a spa, your consultant would only be able to give you an estimate of how long permanent hair removal would take. The estimate would be based on the thickness and coarseness of your hair, as well as your skin tone and hair density.

Another reason why it will take more than one session to remove your hair is that hair grows in stages. This means it’s impossible to remove all the hair in one session. Don’t be surprised if you need three or more sessions to get the results you want. Choose an epilator that is best for you based on your skin tone and hair removal needs. For instance, if you purchase an epilator that works well on thick hair, you probably won’t need as many sessions. This means you can start wearing some of your favorite outfits with confidence sooner than you think. If you want to learn more about hair removal click here.

Since you’re removing the hair yourself, you can go at a pace that is comfortable for you. Don’t rush through the process, because you may miss hairs and not notice until after your session. Don’t go too slowly, as this can be painful and make your sensitive skin even more irritated. Working at a steady pace increases the chances that you’ll treat all the follicles without having too much pain or redness afterwards. It’s also important to stretch the skin slightly while removing the hair. This ensures that the hair is being removed from the root, and reduces the chances that the hair will grow back quickly. Removing each hair from the root also lessens the chances that you’ll develop ingrown hairs.

After each hair removal session, it’s important that you know how to care for your skin. You’ll want to prevent scarring and reduce irritation so you can show off your newly smooth skin with ease. If you have ingrown hairs and swollen skin, it’s imperative that you get rid of these issues as soon as you can. Closing your pores and moisturizing the skin is essential for maintaining the health of the skin in between your hair removal “appointments.” Skin aftercare can also prevent further damage or scarring on the skin, and can keep your skin tone from changing. In the next article, we’ll discuss the aftercare process after each session.
